Welcome to the Legion!

lokAfter Nickelodeon pulled The Legend of Korra from its schedule in July, fans of the The Last Airbender spin-off had to go online to see the remaining episodes of the third season. A fourth season was an uncertainty until Nick announced that starting on October 3rd, they’ll be streaming the next chapter of the Korra saga on their site. That’s right, season four is coming sooner rather than later with new episodes every week.lok

Nick’s official twitter shared the image below, revealing this season’s title:

Whether Book Four: Balance is set to be the final season of Korra remains to be seen. Creators Bryan Konietzko and Mike DiMartino, clarified a few months ago that the show had not been canceled but the move is sure unsettling. Usually each season had about a year in between release but with the sudden decision of just airing the entirety of Balance online, fans suspect that it might have more to do with the network’s desire to retire the show once and for all.

So while it’s great to see more Korra soon after the very emotional and devastating season finale, the show’s future remains very much in the air. With more eyes tuning online for content, might there be hope for the audience to find life there? We’ll see. No official word of it being the final season—yet.
