Welcome to the Legion!

Screen Shot 2014-09-18 at 2.23.08 PMSeriously, enough already! How many times to I have to write an article like this? Let me say this one more time: GIRLS LIKE SUPERHEROES, TOO! Do you hear me, WalMart? Marvel? Hasbro? Anyone?

Our friends over at TheMarySue just found a piece on Gizmodo, talking about how Marvel and Hasbro are celebrating Marvel’s ‘Super Hero September’ by allowing you to create an action figure with your face. Unfortunately, you can only choose from Captain America and Iron Man. This opportunity comes to us from 3D printing company 3DPlusMe. From September 19-28, some Walmarts and Sam’s Clubs are going to let you do a face scan and 3D print your face onto one of these two male superheroes for $45. As TMS pointed out, 3DPlusMe has the capability to do this with MODOK and Black Widow figures, and have at cons.

Enough. Take my money, retailers! I have it! I want female superhero stuff. I would have not only plunked $45 down for my own action figure, I would have done one for my niece, my sister, my mom and my freaking 3 female cats! Oh, no. You don’t WANT my money? Great. I’ll go buy stuff from Her Universe, which acknowledges the fact that female superhero fans exist. *head desk*

  • This is so annoying, frustrating, infuriating…. It seems that no matter how vocal we are, getting female super hero or other female stuff (I feel like hopping on my #WeWantLeia soap box again and am still fearing we’ll need #WeWantHera and #WeWantSabine with Star Wars: Rebels merchandise). Is it so hard for retailers/merchandisers to understand?!
