Don’t look now, but the ‘B’ In Apartment 23 is moving out of the building and slipping on some superhero tights. Krysten Ritter, who played the infamous ‘B,’ as well as Jesse Pinkman’s junkie girlfriend Jane on the critically-acclaimed series Breaking Bad, will play the titular heroine in Marvel Studios’ Jessica Jones Netflix series. According to Deadline, Ritter beat out Teresa Palmer and three other actresses for the role, and is expected to star alongside Mike Colter, who is rumored to have won the role of Luke Cage.
In the Marvel comics, Jessica Jones was once a superhero named Jewel, but retired from the flights and tights crowd to become a private investigator. She falls in love with Luke Cage and they soon have a child together. It is unknown at this time when the Jessica Jones series will debut on Netflix, but it’s next in line after Daredevil, which unveiled its cast and some footage at New York Comic-Con last October.
