Welcome to the Legion!

Avengers-Age-of-Ultron-Poster-700x1037

The job Kevin Feige and his creative team has done to construct a spectacularly entertaining and seamlessly intertwined cinematic universe is unprecedented. Sadly, their art department is a bit lacking in that same visionary quality.

Most of the MCU posters thus far have been lazy photoshopped mish-mashes that diminish the female characters or put them in odd and/or overly-sexualized poses. That streak continues with this new Avengers: Age Of Ultron poster, as it appears The Black Widow, Scarlet Witch, and well, every character who isn’t Tony Stark, Cap, Thor, or the Hulk, has been experimenting with the Ant-Man technology. This poster is overly crowded, awkward, and just kind of blah.

Still, it is exciting to see all of our old superhero pals and that army of Ultrons hints at some truly epic battle sequences. There is also some amazingly good news hidden deep in the hard-to-read credits at the bottom of the poster. Anthony Mackie is listed among the cast, so it looks like we’ll get to see the Falcon soar once again!

Avengers: Age Of Ultron hits theaters May 1.
