Did the Orphan Black star just nab a leading role in a Star Wars spin-off? That’s what Total Geeks is saying. According to a source close to production, the 29-year-old Canadian actress is rumored to have beat out Rooney Mara and Felicity Jones for a leading part. To what Star Wars movie, we still don’t know.
None of this has been verified yet, but Entertainment Weekly spiced up this developing story with a report stating that Amanda Seyfried is replacing Maslany in an Off-Broadway play set to debut this April:
“Amanda Seyfried will make her Off-Broadway acting debut opposite Thomas Sadoski in Neil LaBute’s newest drama, ‘The Way We Get By’. She replaces Orphan Black star Tatiana Maslany, who withdrew from the previously-announced production due to film scheduling conflicts.”
If this side quest expects to meet its theatrical debut deadline in 2016, we should be hearing official news fairly soon once production begins. So place your bets now, folks! Will she be a Jedi, a Sith, or a bounty hunter, or a smuggler?
