Welcome to the Legion!

Yet another cast member was just added to the CW’s Arrow/Flash spinoff, and this one is going to give you a nerdgasm. Doctor Who‘s Arthur Darvill, who played Rory is joining the show, according to Deadline. This comes right after the announcement that relative newcomer Ciara Renée joined the cast as Hawkgirl.

Darvill will play Rip Hunter, a time traveler (haha) who uses his charm to deal with “the strains of being responsible for history itself.” Well, well, that’s kind of on the nose casting, isn’t it?

The show comes to us from Arrow creators Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg & Marc Guggenheim. Darvill and Renée join Brandon Routh (Arrow‘s Ray Palmer/The Atom), Wentworth Miller (The Flash‘s Leonard Snart/Captain Cold), Dominic Purcell (The Flash‘s Mick Rory/Heat Wave), and Victor Garber and Caity Lotz, though their roles are yet to be named. The spinoff will likely hit midseason next year.
