Welcome to the Legion!

The trailer opens at King’s Landing with Baelor’s Sept (the high church, kind of like the Vatican) in the center. Baelor’s Sept will most likely become central to the show this season as the High Septon (the new leader of the church) starts taking the power back to the church, threatening (most likely Cersei), “you have a few, we have a many… we serve the gods and the gods demand justice” The new High Septon seems to be more just that those before him, more invested in taking care of the poor, and opposed to the corruption in King’s Landing.

The first part of the trailer is narrated by Daenerys, who has been freeing the slaves in Meereen in order to “break the wheel” of the families fighting for the Iron Throne. She is seen in the arms of Daario, a mercenary leader with whom she has an intimate relationship.

In the meantime, Stannis Baratheon is at the wall with a fire going, most likely about to bury or sacrifice someone at the stake. Stannis’ wife, Selyse is seen devastated on the ground. Could Melisandre (the Red Lady) have sacrificed Stannis’ daughter?

We also see a devastated Margaery and her brother, Ser Loras trying to get away from the men of Baelor’s Sept. Could his sexual orientation have been found out?

We also see Tommen Baratheon and Margaery possibly getting married or engaged while Tyrion and Varys arrive to Volantis, or possibly Pentos, (the specific location is unclear from the trailer). There is a shot of Tyrion looking up and [possibly] seeing one of the dragons flying overhead.

Daenerys’ slave-freeing has earned her some enemies, specifically, the Sons of the Harpy (the dudes in the creepy brass masks), who become a kind of a terrorist group, killing the freed slaves and causing terror throughout the city, trying to scare Deanerys into leaving.

Jon Snow is seen leading the boats to Hardhome (North of the Wall). He is encouraging the men of the Night’s Watch to work together with the Wildlings in order to get help in fighting the White Walkers.

In the meantime, it looks like Sansa arrives at Winterfell posing as Little Finger’s niece (hence the hair dye). We also see Ramsay Bolton getting intimate with Myranda, who is most likely going to pose as the “fake Arya” in legitimizing him in Winterfell.

Game of Thrones premieres on April 12 and if you don’t have HBO, you can now sign up for HBO NOW to watch Game of Thrones live. The Legion of Leia will be posting weekly recaps and psychology reviews of the show. Don’t forget to join us then.
