Welcome to the Legion!

Disney is taking us back to the grid.  Production on Tron: 3, the follow up to Tron: Legacy, is set to begin production this fall in Vancouver, Canada.  Not much else is known about the film, however there is speculation that Olivia Wilde and Bruce Boxleitner– who have both expressed a desire to return to the franchise, could return.

It’s a safe bet to think that director Joseph Kosinski, who was at the helm of bringing back Tron (2010) years ago, could direct again, though the details have not been workout.

The Tron brand is one that has stood the test of time.  It is easily marketable and fans are devout.  Tron: Legacy brought in over $400 million worldwide.  With is great effects and amazing soundtrack by Daft Punk, Tron:3 can only improve on what has already set the bar for the franchise.  If production were to go smooth, it could be released late 2016.

Here’s a reminder of how Tron: Legacy and Daft Punk solidified the film in Disney history.
