In news that comes a little surprise, Lionsgate has confirmed that its upcoming adaptation of Homer’s The Odyssey will be spread over multiple installments. While it remains to be seen whether the work will be divided into two parts or if this will become yet another trilogy, CEO Jon Feltheimer was recently quoted as saying that the company’s deal with director Francis Lawrence, “contemplates more than one movie.”

In addition, another Lionsgate executive, Rob Friedman, dropped a hint that the company may be looking into the potential of adapting Homer’s other surviving epic, The Iliad, as well.

As previously mentioned, no one translates Homer’s work into English better than Richmond Lattimore.
