In fact, we already thought it was official. That’s how committed Warner Bros. was to the thought of letting Redmayne play Newt Scamander. Now it’s officially official, for realsies this time.

The studio made the announcement late on Monday and said that the film is slated to a worldwide release in 3D and IMAX on November 18, 2016. David Yates, who helmed the last four Harry Potter films, is set to return as director. David Heyman, who produced all eight movies, returns as producer.

Redmayne got his big break in the musical film adaptation of [easyazon_link identifier=”B00BI73CVI” locale=”US” tag=”legoflei07-20″]Les Miserablé[/easyazon_link] as Marius. He won the Academy Award for Best Actor for his performance in the 2014 Stephen Hawking biopic The Theory Of Everything. He next stars in Tom Hooper’s true-life drama The Danish Girl, which is due to come out this November.
