Welcome to the Legion!

Guardians of the Galaxy surprised many people who were not familiar with the title. It earned $774.1 million on a virtually unknown property. Marvel knew it had a hit on its hands and even announced a sequel before the first installment hit the screens. James Gunn and the entire team at Marvel has been closed lipped about details but it seems the mind behind Marvel ’s Cinematic Universe let slip the title during an Ant-Man press event. Kevin Feige was explaining the shooting schedule for the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy movie and let slip:

“We start shooting Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2 in February-March 2016.”

Feige clammed up about the title after that and that could have been the last we heard about it until James Gunn tweeted:

The title fits the movie, as fans remember Star-Lord was rather attached to his Awesome Mix Vol. 1 and titling the sequel Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 fits perfectly. This has not been officially announced by Marvel and likely won’t be until SDCC. James Gunn’s confirmation could just be a bit of Gunn fun on his part.
