Earlier this month, Marvel Studios opted out of this year’s San Diego Comic-Con International, and now Sony and Paramount are following suit, according to Variety.
It’s not a snub, per se. The studios simply don’t have anything to promote at the convention, according to the report, and Marvel Studios already announced Phase 3 at their own special event last October.
While Marvel Studios is out, Marvel TV is still making an appearance. TVLine posted a schedule of television related panels for the convention, which includes Marvel’s television shows. Head of Marvel TV Jeph Loeb is moderating a panel in Ballroom 20 at 3 p.m. on Friday July 10. It will feature the stars and producers of both Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Agent Carter. While there won’t be a ton of stuff for Marvel fans to look forward to, at least the convention as a whole can take a little bit of a breather — less congestion and line-standing.
