Welcome to the Legion!

moana-disney

I’ve talked quite a bit about how excited I am for the upcoming Disney animated film Moana. I even got to interview Dwayne Johnson who voices the demi-god Maui and the filmmakers at the D23 Expo this past weekend. I love the idea of the Pacific Island Princess, how the filmmakers worked so hard to get the culture right and the idea of this young lady on a hero’s journey, a la Joseph Campbell. Apparently the Interwebs is just as excited. Fan art of the main character has shown up all over the place before we even had an official image.

Fans at D23 got a chance to see some of those and today Us Weekly has posted a bunch of shots from the event. Check a few out below and then head over to the site for more. It appears that she’s actually going to have a normal body! I’m on board. Are you?

Moana will hit theaters on November 23, 2016.
