Welcome to the Legion!

Sam-Wilson-Captain-America-1-1-600x897

Really, it’s only Monday but boy are backward thinkers out in full force on this day.

Where to even begin on this?

It’d be too blood boiling to just reiterate the idiocy  of ‘news’ show Fox and Friends so here’s why we think the new Captain America is NOT a problem.

Sam Wilson Is A Great Captain America

In the first issue of the newest Cap run, Sam Wilson now dons the shield of one of Marvel’s greatest heroes. He’s the long time friend of Steve Rodgers and represents the diverse world of the comics. Along with the Avengers, Wilson has been a part of campaigns to save the world from evils on intergalactic, global and local levels. Oh, he’s black? Cool beans.

Relevant Villains

The main villains Cap tackles in the start of this run are The Sons of the Serpent, an extremist group that stand against anyone who are not white and christian. While Fox thinks that we should have Cap fight groups like Isis, we think that the Sons of the Serpent represent legitimate threats in our world closer to home. Mind you, the fictional Sons of the Serpent, have been around in the Marvel comics for 50 years and mirrored real life baddies that any Captain America would stop and bring to justice. Makes sense that Cap would defend and represent all Americans now.

Attack On Hated Not Conservative Views

Seriously, we’re not up in arms that he helps a marginalized group of people who are only seeking a better life from a crazy armed militia at the border of the United States. People in danger? Cap comes in and saves the day? Awesome! The bad guys who believe no one else has the right to be seen as human or have rights unless they look and think like them are dealt with. Even better!

Here’s the Fox segment, hosted by Vulture’s equally scathing piece on the tomfoolery if you want to view but you don’t need that kind of negativity in your life. Video is below.

If you don’t own in already, go buy the comic to support forward thinking instead!
