Welcome to the Legion!

Chewie1

There’s been lots, lots, LOTS of rumors flying around about Episode VII, and there will probably be more and more until we finally get the movie in front of our eyeballs. But one such rumor has persisted: will Han Solo die by the end of The Force Awakens? With Harrison Ford’s history with the franchise and his character, plus the apparent direction of the new trilogy, it doesn’t seem to farfetched. But that raises a new question: who will inherit the Millennium Falcon?

Going forward, the Falcon is not something the franchise should not want to lose, regardless of who’s piloting it. For a while it appeared that Oscar Isaac’s Poe Dameron may well take the ol’ bird. Now, thanks to the films official trading cards, we may well have our answer.

Chewie

Yup, that’s Daisy Ridley’s Rey in the pilot seat next to Chewie! But, as is typical of this type of speculation, this revelation only raises more questions: is Rey truly the new pilot? Why is Chewie not with Han? Is Han actually dead? If so, has Rey actually inherited the Falcon (and a new best friend in Chewie)? If so, is there a more concrete link between those characters? Might that mean Rey really is the daughter of Han and Leia? We don know… we just don’t know… talk amongst yourselves.
