Last night, as throngs of cosplayers, fans, and die-hard geek junkies began their trek to New York Comic-Con this weekend, no-doubt nestled in their beds dreaming of new playthings, Hasbro on Wednesday presented to select press the stuff those dreams are made on, revealing new toys and games inspired by Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Marvel, Transformers, and My Little Pony.
Last year’s toys? Last year’s games? Not so much. This year’s toys? The truth.
As so much of Star Wars has been kept under wraps, hidden under the lock and key of director JJ Abrams’ “mystery box,” the Hasbro event held particular interest for fans of the first galactic family and their friends, where action figures showing a blaster carrying, leather jacket wearing Han Solo and a suddenly fully armed and operational BB-8 (complete with a small arsenal of weapons), offered possible clues to The Force Awakens storyline.
The Han Solo figure, part of Habro’s Black Series, will also include figures of General Hux and Ello Asty, among others.
Check out these figures and others, including new Marvel Legends collection representations of female superheroes like Rogue, Captain Marvel, and Sharon Carter, in the gallery below.
