Today, at NYCC 2015, fans who attended Marvel’s Jessica Jones panel were given a rare treat. Marvel, instead of offering the usual short preview, decided to show the entire first episode. The people who were lucky enough to see the premiere had very positive reactions. The first episode set the very dark ton of the series. Since Netflix originals aren’t bound by the same confines as TV shows and mainstream movies, Jessica Jones has the room to become Marvel’s darkest installment in its universe. It seems that Marvel is going to make it just that.
Also, Marvel announced that Carrie-Anne Moss has been cast as Jeri Hogarth, which is a gender bent version of Jeryn Hogarth. Fans will know the character as the lawyer who would eventually become the leader of the Heroes for Hire.
Everything that came out of the Jessica Jones panel has done nothing but left me wanting more. I can’t wait until November when I can finally see how the TV show will handle Marvel’s darkest comic story lines. In case you haven’t seen the newest trailer, here it is. After everything I have heard today, I can’t wait to watch it. Jessica Jones will debut on Netflix on November 20, 2015.
