Welcome to the Legion!

Today, at NYCC 2015, fans attending the X-Files panel were able to screen the first of six installments of the revival series slated to air starting in January 2016. Chris Carter, David Duchovny, and Mitch Pileggi were all in attendance. Gillian Anderson wasn’t able to attend, but sent a taped message apologizing for her absence.

Fans that were there are thankfully being spoiler free in their comments about the premiere itself. However, TVLine.com reported a few details that were discussed during the panel. One of these details is that episodes 1 & 6 will be mythology based, while episodes 4~5 will be stand-alone episodes. Also, Chris Carter explained that his reasoning for breaking up Mulder and Scully. Carter said, “We wanted to be true to the passage of time and Scully and Mulder have had their difficulties.” Carter also confirmed the return of The Lone Gunmen.

The Twitter reactions of the panel attendees definitely make it seem as if the revival episodes are going to be amazing.

If you haven’t seen the newest trailer for the X-Files revival series, you can watch it below. The new episodes are slated to start airing on January 24, 2016 on Fox.
