The latest issue of Total Film featured some new concept art for next year’s Captain America: Civil War. Apart from just being awesome to look at, the piece includes info about some of the secondary players and whether they are team Cap or team Iron Man.
Though Civil War is a Captain America film, the other Avengers feature pretty heavily into the storyline. Faced with increased government oversight after excessive collateral damage from superhero battles, the Avengers break into two factions: Captain America (Chris Evans) wants to shuck the oversight and operate freely, while Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) is cool playing along with the new regulations. The rest of the Avengers, as well as a few new superheroes/MCU staples choose sides, resulting in–you’ve got it–civil war.
Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), Falcon (Anthony Mackie), Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), The Vision (Paul Bettany), Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), War Machine (Don Cheadle), Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman), Ant-Man (Paul Rudd), Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan), are also in the film, not to mention villains Baron Zemo (Daniel Brühl) and Crossbones (Brock Rumlow) That’s a lot of mutant power, lemme tell ya.
The film, which was written by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely and directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, is set to premiere on May 6, 2016.
