Big news in the video game/movie/television world!
Producer Stacey Sher has been announced as the new co-president of Activision Blizzard Studios which is a production unit that works to create television and film based on video games.
Feminists everywhere, rejoice! Haha, okay I’m being kind of dramatic. But, at the same time, I’m kind of not being dramatic at all! It’s awesome to see that the best woman for the job, actually got it! And that job is working in the video game/film/television industry. Too cool.
Sher will serve as co-president alongside Nick van Dyk. She has previously been a part of films such as Erin Brockovich, Matilda, Pulp Fiction, Django Unchained, and The Hateful Eight.
Sher had this really awesome thing to say about joining Activision Blizzard Studios and focusing on the quality of the television and film being created, rather than quantity:
“It’s about making sure you do not have the pressure to just get something out there because you are backing into a release date,” Sher said. She also said Activision Blizzard’s goal is to “create filmed entertainment based on Activision Blizzard games that is as great as the games themselves.”
Awesome! Can’t wait to hear about her upcoming projects!
