Welcome to the Legion!

Toy Fair Mattel 020

Mattel revealed the alleged main bad guy from Paul Feig’s Ghostbusters, and he might not be the only villain we’ve already seen.

Mattel‘s Toy Fair showcase featured the prototypes for their upcoming line of action figures based on the new Ghostbusters film starring Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones. In addition to the four ladies, another action figure made his debut– Rowan, who appears to be the embodiment of the iconic Ghostbusters logo. As Katherine reported earlier, word has it Rowan will be the main villain of the movie, although they didn’t offer any other details about this guy.

But that’s not all the Ghostbusters bad guy news! LEGO released promo images of their upcoming Ghostbusters building sets, including the Ecto-1 and Ecto-2, along with the new ‘Busters and their secretary, Chris Hemsworth‘s Kevin. Here’s where it gets interesting… the Kevin figure features an alternate face with scowling, gnashed teeth and glowing red eyes, suggesting Kevin might get possessed or may possibly even be a villain in disguise in the movie. Adding to the intrigue, LEGO quickly requested that the image of Kevin’s demonic face be removed from any websites that published it… and he was rocking only his normal, handsome face on the LEGO toy shown at Toy Fair.

So there you have it. Kevin may be a bad guy in hiding, and the Ghostbusters will face off with an anthropomorphic marketing tool in a red bow tie, who you can see in the photo gallery below. Why not? After all, the Ghostbusters logo has itself become just as endearing and beloved an icon as the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man was when he tore through New York City back in 1984.
