This morning, DC posted a press release announcing the launch of a talent development workshop to take place in the fall of 2016. There will be programs for writers and artists, and they will be lead by established DC talent including Jim Lee, Geoff Johns, Scott Snyder, Klaus Janson and Andy Kubert.

Applications for the artist workshop open April 1 and close April 30; writers workshop applications open May 1 and close May 31. Both workshops will be held at the DC Entertainment office in Burbank.

According to Jim Lee, a DC Entertainment co-publisher:

“Our goal is to identify and foster fresh, new voices. The new DC Talent Development Workshops will play a vital role in discovering and developing the next generation of comic talent.”

Scott Snyder, writer for the bestselling Batman comics, also had this to say about his involvement:

“I’m so proud and honored to be heading up DC’s Writers Workshop. Teaching has always been a passion of mine, and getting to help welcome and coach new voices at a company that’s given me so many creative opportunities is a tremendous thrill.”

Upon completion of the program, successful participants will be considered for placement on existing DC titles.
