Welcome to the Legion!

As anyone who has not been literally living under a rock for the past six months knows, Star Wars: The Force Awakens was an absolute critical and box office smash hit. Of course, with that run-away success comes higher expectations for the two sequels, the next of which is currently in production under the guidance of director Rian Johnson (Brick, Looper).

While details about this forthcoming installment have been kept very tightly under wraps, fans have been blessed with occasional behind-the-scenes videos and still shots of the actors prepping and training and such. However, yesterday, director Rian Johnson took it a step further, putting out two black and white photos on his Tumblr page from the set.

“I can’t believe we’re half way through the shoot” Johnson declares. Well, it may be going fast for you, sir, but the rest of us mere mortals are tapping our fingers quite impatiently. Of course, we all agree, an A-List Hollywood blockbuster cannot be rushed. But it is nice to get new tidbits every now and then. Makes the waiting just a little easier.

Star Wars: Episode VIII is slated for release December 15, 2017.
