Welcome to the Legion!

While rumors abounded speculating on the possible casting of Dwayne Johnson/The Rock in the forth-coming Jumanji remake, nothing was officially set in stone until today. By way of his Instagram account, the former WWE wrestler turned box-office heavy weight wrote:

It’s official. We’ll produce and deliver to a whole new generation a title that I love and is one of my all time favs: There’s games you play for fun…then there’s games that change your life. JUMANJI

The remake is scheduled to debut summer of 2017 and is being produced by Sony Pictures. Jake Kasdan (Bad Teacher, Sex Tape) is set to direct with Matt Tolmach (The Amazing Spider-Man) producing.

The original film was a 1995 release, and it was a box-office success which starred Bonnie Hunt, a young Kirsten Dunst and most memorably, the late, great Robin Williams.
