Welcome to the Legion!

mega man

Remember how excited we were when Capcom and Dentsu announced a new Mega-Man animated series? It looks like DHX Media was also excited–they’ve come on board to co-produce, distribute, and jointly manage licensing along with Dentsu. DHX is known for commercial children’s/YA TV–they’re behind Teletubbies, Yo Gabba Gabba! and most IMPORTANTLY (according to me) the Degrassi franchise. If any of these titles worry you, don’t let it–Man of Action is still executive producing, and they’re the powerhouse behind Ben 10, Generator Rex, and Big Hero 6.

The Mega-Man series will follow the Capcom character in his new alter-ego, Aki Light, a totally normal schoolkid except that he’s a robot who forms a suit of impenetrable armor when activated. It will premiere sometime next year, marking the character’s 30th anniversary.
