Today we have a new trailer from 20th Century Fox UK for Independence Day: Resurgence which brings us a ton of new footage. This is the third trailer for the upcoming sequel and begins with a memorial service for those who were lost in the original fight in 1996. Then all hell breaks loose. Luckily Jeff Goldblum is there to help out with quippy lines and soothing logic. Also, there are a lot of “lines,” all of which seem a bit staid. Seriously, it’s like they sat down and came up with a bunch of lines heroes might say in a crisis and just strung them together.

Here’s the information: “We always knew they were coming back. After Independence Day redefined the event movie genre, the next epic chapter delivers global spectacle on an unimaginable scale. Using recovered alien technology, the nations of Earth have collaborated on an immense defense program to protect the planet. But nothing can prepare us for the aliens’ advanced and unprecedented force. Only the ingenuity of a few brave men and women can bring our world back from the brink of extinction.” Independence Day Resurgence stars Liam Hemsworth, Jeff Goldblum, Bill Pullman, Judd Hirsch, Vivica A. Fox, Brent Spiner, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Jessie Usher, Maika Monroe and Sela Ward and will hit theaters on June 24, 2016. Check it out below and let us know what you think.
