After years of fans talking about and campaigning for Community star Donald Glover should play Miles Morales, Deadline is reporting that he’s joined the cast of the Marvel/Sony film Spider-Man: Homecoming. He’s currently the voice of Morales in Disney XD’s Ultimate Spider-Man. Though he’s too old to play Morales now, especially with the casting of Tom Holland and Marissa Tomei keeping the film on the younger side, he could certainly be the dad of a lad named Miles as our podcast co-host Sabina Ibarra has talked about.
We’ll keep you updated with any info on his role, but in the meantime, we’d love to hear your thoughts on who Glover might play. Post your ideas in the comments and let us know how psyched you are for the casting. The film also stars Zendaya, Michael Barbieri, Kenneth Choi and Tony Revolori (who was amazing in The Grand Budapest Hotel) with Robert Downey Jr. also signed on to appear as Iron Man. Spider-Man: Homecoming will hit theaters on July 7, 2017.
