Welcome to the Legion!

Guardians-of-the-Galaxy-Vol-2

Now this is some pretty exciting news if it turns out to be true. According to our friends over at Comicbook.com Elizabeth Debicki has been cast to play  the villain Ayesha (aka: Her) in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. The reason why this could be so important is that Ayesha allows director James Gunn to introduce another major player in the world of the Guardians of the Galaxy, the uber-being Adam Warlock.

How? Well let’s give you a little background. In the comics Ayesha was created by a group of scientists known as The Enclave as an attempt to create the world’s first genetically perfect being. Their first attempt created Him, also known as Adam Warlock. While he was genetically perfect, he also developed a keen sense of morality and rejected The Enclave’s teachings. After his escape, the group tried to create a second being, the aforementioned Her.

Unfortunately for The Enclave she also rejected her creators and escaped and eventually settled on the name of Ayesha. Despite her rejection of The Enclave, Ayesha wants to find Adam Warlock so they can create a new race of genetically perfect beings. Imbued with phenomenal cosmic power, Ayesha has made a name for herself throughout the cosmos. In fact, she’s made a few names as she’s also known as Kismet and Paragon.

It’s still unclear how much of this will make it into the big screen adaption but it does create an interesting opportunity to bring fan favorite Adam Warlock to the Guardians. So what do you think? Clever introduction or simply a misdirect? Let us know in the comments below or on Twitter!
