Voltron fans rejoice! IGN has provided an exclusive sizzle reel of Netflix and Dreamworks Animation’s new series, Voltron: Legendary Defender.

For those unfamiliar with Voltron, now is a great time to educate yourself! The original series, Voltron: Defender of the Universe, was a collaboration between Toei Animation (the same company that brought you Dragon Ball and Sailor Moon) and World Events Productions (a smaller animation and distribution company based in America). Defender of the Universe was actually the heavily-edited combination of two separate Toei mecha anime series, Beast King GoLion and Armored Fleet Dairugger XV, used as two different iterations under the umbrella of Voltron. The series, though vastly changed from its original Japanese source material, was quite popular during its original run. This series spawned several spinoffs and for some time, a live-action adaptation was rumored to be in the works.

Earlier this year, it was announced that Netflix would be working with Dreamworks Animation to bring fans a new series, Voltron: Legendary Defender. In March, Wondercon hosted a panel for the the new series, where the details about the premise and cast were revealed. During the panel, several clips were showcased, receiving a warm reception from the crowd. As is generally the case, the clips were not released publicly. However, IGN has now provided a sizzle reel which was previously only shown to fans at Wondercon. If the sizzle reel is a good indication of what’s to come, Voltron fans certainly have quite a bit to look forward to!

The new series also plays host to an impressive cast, with stars such as Steven Yeun, of The Walking Dead fame, and Jeremy Shada, who plays Finn on the popular Cartoon Network show Adventure Time, among others.

All 11 episodes of Voltron: Legendary Defender will be available to stream exclusively on Netflix on June 10th.
