Chris Evans is taking a break from saving the world to take on a part that’s a little darker. The film is set to be based on Steven Moffat’s continuation of the original Robert Louis Stevenson novel that originally aired on BBC.
While it will be interesting to see Evans take on a different type of role, it is difficult to imagine him in the part. It will be exciting to see what he can bring to it, though. I’m sure he’s ready to be taking on new, exciting roles at this point – after playing Captain America for so many films.
If you haven’t heard of the series on which the film will be based, it was called Jekyll, and it originally aired in 2007 on BBC. It follows the story of Tom Jackman, who is a modern day descendent of the original Dr. Jekyll. He soon begins experiencing the same strange transformation that originally occurred in Jekyll, but the issue is that Jackman has a family. So, it’s really about the struggle to protect his family from the dark side of himself.
Sounds like it could make either a really fantastic movie or a really terrible movie. Only time will tell! If you’d like to check out more of Jekyll, you can watch the trailer below:
