The DC Cinematic Universe is moving ahead at full steam as three names emerged on the short list to play the female lead in the upcoming Flash movie. Kiersey Clemons (Dope), who has previously worked with Flash director Rick Famuyiwa is said to be the forerunner. It may not be all sewn up for Clemons though as Borys Kit of the Hollywood Reporter stated that both Rita Ora (50 Shades of Grey) and Lucy Boynton (Sing Street) are also in contention for the role.
Although it’s not yet been revealed which character this female lead might be, it’s a fair guess that the role in question is for Iris West, the main love interest of Barry Allen, currently played by Candice Patton on the hit CW show. The Flash, played by Ezra Miller, is slated to star in the upcoming Justice League movie alongside Batman (Ben Affleck), Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), Superman (Henry Cavill), Cyborg (Ray Fisher), and Aquaman (Jason Mamoa) which arrives in theaters Novermber 17th of, 2017.
The current speculation is that we’ll see this new version of Iris West in Justice League, before she sets out with The Flash in his solo movie, which begins production later this year.
