Welcome to the Legion!

no-mans-sky-4

Hello Games and Sony released a new trailer of the upcoming No Man’s Sky. It’s the first of four to come out, profiling the biggest part of the game: exploration. As the video below will tell you, there are about 18 quintillion planets to explore. In case you don’t know how many zeros are in a quintillion, there are 18. Yeah… Don’t think you’ll be able to see everything. Just like real space exploration!

No Man’s Sky is a game that lets you explore and survive in an infinite amount of worlds generated by the game. You can go to anywhere your little heart desires. There’s literally nothing stopping you from going to a distant mountain or another low-hanging planet just over the horizon. You can fly from one planet to another. I don’t recommend flying into a star, but you do you, boo.

If you think exploring through uncharted solar systems and cataloguing new forms of life is all you get to do in the game, then you’re in for a pleasant surprise. You’ll also find ancient artifacts that may (or may not) tell a greater story of the universe. You can choose to share your discoveries with the players. You’ll face plenty of dangers challenging you to test your will to survive. In No Man’s Sky, every victory and every defeat has lasting consequences.

How you play No Man’s Sky is literally up to you, but don’t think you’ll have a limitless supply of resources. You have to collect precious supplies on the surfaces of planets and trade them for the ships, suits and equipment that will allow you to continue exploring the stars.

No Man’s Sky will officially be released in North America for the PlayStation 4 and PC on August 9, 2016.
