Welcome to the Legion!

We’re less than 2 weeks out from David Ayer‘s Suicide Squad and Warner Bros is trying to light a fire under audience’s butts. To that effect, we have a new trailer that’s over 3 minutes long!

While we see a lot of the same stuff we’ve been shown previously we are given a handful of new moments with the characters and a few more moments of levity, which this movie universe so sorely needs, so maybe those reshoots have done the movie good.

What I’m most curious about is the short scene at the beginning: the squad sitting around an abandoned bar having a few sullen drinks. Deadshot (Will Smith) laments that the team has failed and that they are nothing but patsies, they’ve been set up. I imagine this is the moment before the finale where the team has lost itself, they’re in the low-point, right before the rise back up for the big finish. But the way things are worded… it feels like there’s something else going on. Something that we don’t know about yet. Is there a greater conspiracy with Amanda Waller? Is she playing a much bigger game?

Considering that a) we’ve now seen that Amanda Waller and the US Government may be working with The Enchantress, and b) she’s freaking Amanda Waller, I’d say this whole thing is gonna be a lot more complicated than: Hey, there’s a very big threat to humanity, and we don’t have the Justice League yet.

What do you all think? Are you liking the lighter tone? How about those cartoony animations at the beginning? Let us know.
