Welcome to the Legion!

As first reported by IGN, fan favorite Spider Gwen will be making her debut animated appearance in the final arc of the new four-part storyline that is about to begin on the Ultimate Spider-Man animated series. Since Spider Gwen’s introduction to the Marvel Universe, she has gathered quite the following and is currently starring in her own spinoff series.  With her popularity and her being an alternative version of Spider-Man already, it makes perfect sense to throw her into the mix for this Spider invested party. Spider Gwen will be voiced by Dove Cameron (Descendants) and will be joined by many other alternative versions of Spider-Man as they make their appearances in this storyline.

This isn’t the first time that the Ultimate Spider-Man series has thrown alternative versions of Spider-Man at us. In this storyline, we’ll be introduced to several other incarnations of Spider-Man. Ben Diskin, who’s already voiced several characters already in the series as well as having voiced Spider-Man in other series and games, will be voicing Blood Spider in this particular storyline. Milo Ventimiglia will be reprising his role as Spider Noir for this storyline. Will Friedle will be voicing Web Beard, a pirate-inspired incarnation of Spider-Man and Troy Baker will be voicing Webslinger, the Spider-Man Cowboy incarnation.

Marvel’s Ultimate Spider-Man will be premiering “Return to the Spider-Verse: Part One” on August 27, 2016, at 8 PM Eastern Standard Time on Disney XD.  Part Two will be aired on September 3, 2016. Part Three will air on September 10, 2016 and Part Four, where our lovely Spider Gwen will be making her debut, will air on September 17, 2016.

What do you think about Spider-Gwen making her debut? What do you think about this storyline? Are there going to be too many Spider-Mans or is there never enough of that webslinger for your tastes? Let us know in the comics below.
