Welcome to the Legion!

Is it just me or does Ed Skrein seem fixated on jumping from franchise to franchise? He first gained notable attention as the original Daario Naharis in the third season of Game of Thrones. He left that (very successful) show to take the lead role in the reboot of the Transporter series, The Transporter: Refueled. When that was done with he hopped over to Deadpool where he got to play the nemesis to the Merc with a Mouth. That’s fingers in a lot of pies, hoping one is good to go.

Skrein has added another potential franchise role to his resume by scoring the role of Zapan in James Cameron‘s upcoming Alita: Battle Angel. He joins the current cast of Rosa Salazar as the titular Alita, Christoph Waltz as Doctor Dyson, and Jackie Earle Haley in a currently undisclosed role.

Alita: Battle Angel will be based off the first four volumes of the manga Battle Angel Alita. The original story follows the cyborg Alita, who finds herself in a dystopian wasteland with almost no memory of her past. She is awakened by Daisuke Ido, a cybernetics doctor. With her one intact memory, that of the martial art Panzer Kunst, Alita sets out to restore her mind while helping others along the way.

The film will be directed by Robert Rodriguez from a screenplay by Laeta Kalogridis.
