Today Disney Channel released their first image for the movie sequel Descendants 2. In the image, we get to see the new looks of some of the familiar characters from the original movie. Starting from left to right we see Carlos, son of Cruella de Vil (Cameron Boyce), Evie, daughter of the Evil Queen (Sofia Carson), Mal, daughter of Maleficent (Dove Cameron), and Jay, son of Jafar (Booboo Stewart) – as well as Ben, King of Auradon, son of Beast and Belle (Mitchell Hope).
In the original movie, Ben issued a decree to allow the Isle of the Lost’s children an opportunity to go to school in Auradon. He is made to choose the first four students – Carlos, Evie, Mal, and Jay. The four kids selected were originally going to engage in villainous shenanigans on behalf of Mal’s mother Maleficent. However, that’s not entirely what happened. At the end of the movie, we are left with the four kids and Ben happy and partying it up.
But nothing stays happy for long when you are a villain, does it? So, what do we have to look forward to for the sequel? The synopsis for Descendants 2 is as follows:
The story deepens in the music-driven sequel to the global smash hit “Descendants,” as the teenage sons and daughters of Disney’s most infamous villains — Mal, Evie, Carlos and Jay (also known as Villain Kids or VKs) — try to find their place in idyllic Auradon. When the pressure to be royally perfect becomes too much for Mal, she returns to her rotten roots on the Isle of the Lost where her archenemy Uma, the daughter of Ursula, has taken her spot as self-proclaimed queen of the run-down town. Uma, still resentful over not being selected by Ben to go to Auradon Prep with the other Villain Kids, stirs her pirate gang including Captain Hook’s son Harry and Gaston’s son Gil, to break the barrier between the Isle of the Lost and Auradon, and unleash all the villains imprisoned on the Isle, once and for all
