Star Wars

Well, I’m sorry to say that I only have one, new Star Wars rumor for us this week! But it really is a fun one. And it has to do with the potential of a romantic relationship in Star Wars: Episode VIII.

As always, please STOP READING NOW if you would like to avoid any potential Star Wars rumors and/or spoilers!!!!

Okay, here we go…

RUMOR: A Finn and Rey romance could be happening in Star Wars: Episode VIII.

This rumor is incredibly speculative and based on something that Daisy Ridley (who plays Rey) had to say about a possible romantic storyline.

As reported by MoviePilot, Ridley was recently a guest on the podcast entitled, “My Dad Wrote a Porno.” And this is what she said:

“Maybe… The thing is, I read this article the other day, and it was talking about being in love with your friends, and how that is the ultimate thing. So I think romance covers a lot of bases.”

Hmmmm… Not sure what that means. I feel like Ridley could be saying one of two things:

  1. She could be saying that the idea of a “romance” is multifaceted and that there is a “romantic” element to the significant friendship that Finn and Rey share.

  1. She could be saying that, because Finn and Rey are such close friends, the idea of a romance blossoming between them would totally work.

Even though I love the complexity and depth of #1, I really hope #2 is correct. I felt that, in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, it was painfully clear that Finn was attracted to Rey. In turn, I also felt that it was painfully clear that Rey learned to trust and, therefore, became connected to Finn in a very unique way.

I think a romance between them would be awesome.

What do you think?! Leave comments and let us know!
