Welcome to the Legion!

Forget the superhero landing, check out our Girl of Steel’s superhero lift off! In the CW‘s newest promo, we see Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) take off into the stratosphere in slow motion. She leaves behind a huge, crumbling dent in the ground where she once stood. You can take a look in the video above.

Supergirl is based on the DC character Kara Zor-El, Superman‘s cousin, who after 12 years of keeping her powers a secret on Earth, decides to finally embrace her superhuman abilities and be the hero she was always meant to be. Kara lives in National City assisting media mogul Cat Grant. However, Kara’s days of keeping her talents a secret are over when Hank Henshaw, head of a super-secret agency, enlists her to help protect the citizens of National City from sinister threats.

Season 2 finally introduces Superman to the CW superhero universe, who will be played by Teen Wolf alum Tyler Hoechlin. We’ll also see Floriana Lima as Maggie Sawyer, a National City Police Department officer specializing in metahuman crime, and Chris Wood as Mon-El, an alien from the planet Daxam who gains powers similar to Kryptonians like Supergirl and Superman.

Supergirl Season 2 premieres Monday, October 10, 2016 at 8/7c on its new network, The CW.
