We’ve known for awhile that ‘Logan’ was going to be the final send off for Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine. The film appears to be focusing on the ‘Old Man Logan’ storyline, something that was confirmed yesterday by The Wrap in an exclusive. Logan is having difficulties healing from his injuries and is in a constant state of pain. He’s using alcohol to numb himself, but he can’t afford to be too drunk because he is the caretaker of Professor Xavier in the upcoming film.

How far off is Professor Xavier that he has to have someone take care of him? What has happened to one of the most powerful mutants in the world? As revealed on social media by director James Mangold, age as hit one of our favorite mutants hard. Since the film was revealed to take place years ahead in the future i.e. 2024, the image that was revealed of Professor Xavier today makes sense. He is not looking good at all. One of his eyes is clouded over and age spots are all over his face. He looks worse for the wear. And it may be downhill from here.

Rumors have been circulating that ‘Logan’ will be Patrick Stewart’s last X-Men film. Patrick Stewart remains hopeful that he can return, despite the details that have been revealed in the ‘Logan’ plot so far:

I can’t say because I don’t know, but I would imagine this is probably the end of this franchise for me. But the thing about science fiction and fantasy is that you can never, ever say it’s the end, it’s over. But watch out! In March, I’m going to be back on the screen again. A very different Charles Xavier, that’s all I’m allowed to say. Nothing like the Charles Xavier you’ve seen in the past.

All I can definitely say is expect a much darker film than any other X-Men film we’ve experienced so far. Deaths will probably occur and no one is safe. Prepare your emotions because there may be tears and blood and, ultimately, cathartic sadness.

The release date for ‘Logan’ is set for March 3, 2017. What do you think of ‘Logan’? What do you think of the very aged and sickly looking Professor Xavier? Please let us know what you think in the comments below.
