Comic-Con HQ’s new web series, Mark Hamill’s Pop Culture Quest, just released its second episode and it is all about Monsters vs Robots! The series allows Hamill to take his passion for collecting and pop culture memorabilia to the next level as he interviews both creators of iconic pop culture media and the famed collectors that have dedicated their lives (and their living spaces) to their geeky passions. Episode 2 brings us to the home of Scott Zillner, epic collector of all things Godzilla, robot, and even some screen-worn Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers monsters.
The second episode is 12 minutes, and thus easily watchable and enjoyable. Hamill is not alone in his quest – he is joined by a puppet friend, Pop, who surely makes the show more appealing to kids and encourages their love of collecting. Zillner’s home is a geek paradise, with giant monster suits waiting by the front door and Godzilla figures signed by their 1950s original suit actors. Zillner also hosts the bi-annual Power Morphicon, which specializes in Power Rangers merchandise and culture as well as other media in the Japanese monster/robot genre.
