Welcome to the Legion!

inhumans

Inhumans was originally announced in Marvel Studios ambitious Phase 3 lineup, but was quietly dropped in early 2014. While the company itself is still mum on the film’s fate, Kevin Feige insists that the Terrigen-powered, non-mutant heroes will make into the MCU one way or the other.

“I think Inhumans will happen for sure,” Feige tells /Film. “I don’t know when. I think it’s happening on television. And I think as we get into Phase 4 as I’ve always said, it could happen as a movie. I think it would be super cool.”

Is Feige referring to a possible TV movie event on ABC, or is he hinting at continuing the Inhuman story on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.? Unclear. What we do know is that he still finds value in Inhumans‘ characters, enough to still want to bring them to live on screen.

Earlier this year, Feige explained why Inhumans was taken off the Phase 3 roster, saying that the lineup had just grown “in a very good way.” Of course he was referring to the adding of Spider-Man: Homecoming (a result from the Sony deal that struck after the Phase 3 announcement) and Ant-Man & the Wasp. At the time, Inhumans was merely pushed from its November 2018 slot to July 2019 before getting dropped from schedule entirely.

The Inhumans are a race of superpowered humans gifted with various abilities as a result of ancient alien experimentation. They were introduced into the MCU’s companion television series Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. at the end of Season 2 and all through Season 3. However, the TV show has yet to actually introduce the Royal Family that is prominently featured in the Inhuman comic book series.
