I’m sure any of us who are familiar with the Assassin’s Creed games knows about the infamous Animus. All story plots for the main characters in this game series pertain to the Animus which, honestly, has never really made sense in the games anyway. So, it’s intriguing to see 20th Century Fox’s featurette exploring the concept of the Animus as it relates to the cinematic universe of Assassin’s Creed

The movie has its work cut out for it in trying to make the Animus appear to be more than it actually is, especially since the movie has embraced the science fiction genre completely instead of sticking to the historical route.

What I want to know from you guys is whether or not the featurette made the Animus make sense or not. It seems like 20th Century Fox is heavily relying on the Animus to explain things in this movie so, depending on how they go about tackling it, it may either make or break whether or not the film makes much sense outside of flashy action sequences and special effects.

The official synopsis for the movie is as follows:

Through a revolutionary technology that unlocks his genetic memories, Callum Lynch (Michael Fassbender) experiences the adventures of his ancestor, Aguilar, in 15th Century Spain. Callum discovers he is descended from a mysterious secret society, the Assassins, and amasses incredible knowledge and skills to take on the oppressive and powerful Templar organization in the present day.

Let us know your thoughts on the featurette below. Assassin’s Creed will be released in theaters on December 21, 2016.
