Lionsgate released a new international trailer this week for the upcoming Power Rangers movie.
It’s actually a little more of the same of what we were shown last October. But this time we got a few extra snippets of their Power Coins, items our heroes use to transform into the Power Rangers.
The film’s version of these coins look way different from their TV show counterparts. For one, they were actual oversized coins with prehistoric animals embossed on them. The new ones look like chucks of colored rock or amber.
Power Rangers follows five troubled teens who become extraordinary warriors when they learn that their small town of Angel Grove – and the world – is on the brink of destruction caused by an ancient alien threat. In order to save the planet, they will have to overcome some personal issues before they can work together as a team.
The film stars Dacre Montgomery as Jason Lee Scott/the Red Ranger, RJ Cyler as Billy Cranston/the Blue Ranger, Becky G as Trini Kwan/the Yellow Ranger, Ludi Lin as Zack Taylor/the Black Ranger, Naomi Scott as Kimberly Hart/the Pink Ranger, Elizabeth Banks as Rita Repulsa, Bill Hader as Alpha 5, and Bryan Cranston as Zordon.
The film is being directed by Project Almanac director Dean Israelite, and it was written by Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz.
