High Dynamic Range, or HDR, is coming to Netflix. The home video streaming giant released a video this week announcing its intent to re-release all of its original programming in HDR.

“What that means is that shot-to-shot, scene-to-scene, the color is adjusted such that it helps to tell the story and is pleasing to the eye… which allows you to show much brighter images and a much wider range of colors on a television screen,” explains Delux VP of Editorial Services Jay Tilin. “HDR allows for a greater dynamic range of luminosity in each image.”

The process will begin with Daredevil, and then to other Marvel series such as Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist.

This is really good. Too often did we feel as blind as Daredevil himself while watching his series — y’know…as opposed to actual blind people. It’ll be nice to see a bit more color distinguishing themselves so we can see exactly what we’re looking at in each scene. You can watch the demo below.
