UPDATE

In an exclusive with The Wrap, it was originally revealed that Ryan Reynolds recently shot a segment as Deadpool for the upcoming Logan film.

Since then, however, director James Mangold, Ryan Reynolds, and Hugh Jackman have all tweeted that Deadpool is not making an appearance in the upcoming Logan film. Now the question is, “How did this news start in the first place?”

Citing a person close to the project, TheWrap said the scene with Deadpool would most likely appear after the credits. 20th Century Fox declined to comment, but after the publication of the story, Mangold issued an unambiguous denial: “For everyone freaking out, @ is dealing in fake news. Chill.”

This spot of fake news puts people in a difficult spot because of the high profile nature of these films and fans wanting every bit of information that they can get surrounding these films. Although it was nice to think that Deadpool would be in the upcoming Logan film, it is nothing but a sad rumor now.

Until then, we do have an exciting final conclusion of a movie to look forward to with plenty of Wolverine action. That is guaranteed!

The official synopsis for the movie is below:

In 2024, mutant births are severely in decline, and people aren’t sure why. A government-type operation is turning mutant children into killing machines. From this, Logan emerges as a mentor to a mutant girl, who has two claws instead of his three.

Logan will be coming to theaters on March 3, 2017.
