Star Wars

Hey guys! Happy Holidays! To celebrate, let’s enjoy some new Star Wars rumors together!

I have THREE (YES, THREE!) very exciting and fun rumors this week! Two about Star Wars: Episode VIII and one about Star Wars: A New Hope!

Alright, here we go…

1.) Rey will fight a sea monster in Star Wars: Episode VIII.

Yep, a sea monster! According to Making Star Wars, Rey, dressed in a black cloak, will fight a sea monster. As the reported rumor states, on the Island of Achch-To (where Rey finds Luke Skywalker at the end of Star Wars: The Force Awakens), Rey does not have the needed permission to be on the island and, therefore, must fight the sea monster.

Ummmmmmm… Okay. A sea monster strikes me as totally weird and random. But then, ya know, I think about the Exogorth and it doesn’t seem to weird or random anymore. If this rumor is true, I hope it’s an awesome sea monster and an even more awesome fight scene!

2.) Little “Furby”-like creatures will be on the Island of Ahch-To in Star Wars: Episode VIII.

Soooooo… this is fun!

As reported by Making Star Wars, the Island of Ahch-To is inhabited by little, fury things with sharp teeth that look something like Furby toys.

I mean… It makes sense, right?! Wookiees and Ewoks and now these little dudes! I’m game. And I’m sure it will be a fun part of the film! — Due to the fact that their description from MSW includes “razor sharp teeth,” I would guess that they will probably create some light-hearted drama!

3.) A 4K version of Star Wars: A New Hope may be released shortly!

For those of you who don’t know, tracking down the original Star Wars trilogy (without George Lucas’ edits that came after the prequels were released) is nearly impossible. But, rumor has it, that won’t be the case much longer! At least not for A New Hope!

With the 40 year anniversary of the 1977 film’s release coming up in 2017, and the release of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story just last week, GeekExchange.com has reported the rumor that A New Hope may soon be released in “4K restoration print.”

This is such exciting news for those of us who want to watch the original film as it was intended! (i.e. Without Hayden Christensen… *ugh*)
