This morning, director Chris Miller tweeted a picture indicating that they have begun shooting Star Wars‘ next anthology film centered around our favorite scruffy looking nerf herder, Han Solo (played by Alden Ehrenreich).
The tweet is an obvious play on the “Han shot first” argument, but if you look at the title in the picture, you’ll notice it reads “Star Wars: Red Cup.” Clearly this is not the actual title of the movie, but it’s another funny play on the lead’s name. If Solo Cups have any marketing sense, they’ll jump on this great opportunity to make limited edition Red Han Solo Cups.

Chris Miller is co-directing the Han Solo flick with Phil Lord. The two previously worked on The LEGO Movie, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, as well as 21 Jump Street and 22 Jump Street before landing the coveted position of helming the next standalone Star Wars movie.
The Han Solo movie is slated for a May 25, 2018 release. It will be executive produced by Lawrence Kasdan and Jason McGatlin and co-produced by Will Allegra.
