Aaryn Flynn, the General Manager of BioWare, announced today that highly anticipated Mass Effect: Andromeda launches Tuesday, March 21, 2017 across North America, and March 23, 2017 in Europe.
Mass Effect: Andromeda is our most ambitious Mass Effect game to date. We’re telling completely new stories, creating new characters, new planets, new species, and introducing new gameplay systems. And for the first time, we’re bringing Mass Effect to the FrostbiteTM game engine, an incredible engine that’s delivering a tremendous graphical jump from the trilogy to Mass Effect: Andromeda.
This announcement comes just ahead of the game’s appearance later tonight at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), where it will feature in a brand new gameplay trailer.
Andromeda is the hotly anticipated follow-up to the Mass Effect Trilogy, which told the story of Commander Shepherd and her/his operatic adventures throughout the galaxy. Mass Effect 3 ended somewhat controversially, forever changing the state of the Milky Way in drastic ways depending on your choice. Andromeda will not be addressing these changes, however, instead choosing to follow the story of new characters in an entirely new galaxy.
