Welcome to the Legion!

I live in Los Angeles, so I maybe have a weird sense of humor about these things. Today we have a new promo for the upcoming Netflix series Santa Clarita Diet, which has Timothy Olyphant doing a PSA about this new diet his wife (Drew Barrymore) is on. Yeah, she’s a zombie, but I’m pretty sure there are some people out here in La La Land who might not squirm about eating brains if it kept them slim and trim.

All kidding aside, this show kept its premise pretty close to the vest until about a week ago, and from what we’ve seen, it may give us a new take on the sometimes tired zombie genre. Are you guys sick of zombies? I feel about this the way I feel about vampires; if you can do it in a new and fun way, I’m all in. The only thing that gets tired with monsters is when there are a zillion copycats. I like the sense of humor that both this video and the ads that have a very subtle message have brought. (Barrymore has a great ad where she’s drinking a juice that is full of body parts. You have to look close, but it’s there.

Are you guys excited for the show? Are you ready for funny zombies again? Let us know in the comments or tweet us @LegionofLeia and spill your guts. I’m so sorry. I actually typed that without thinking. I admit that I giggled to myself. What? I like stupid humor. Blame my dad. Santa Clarita Diet will hit Netflix in its entirety on February 3, 2017. Oh, and by the way, Nathan Fillion will appear on the show.
