In an unprecedented move, Disney Channel announced today that Tangled The Series has been officially renewed for a second season ahead of its first season premiere.

All I can say is, “Yay!”

Tangled is personally one of my favorite Disney animated movies of all time. When I first found out about Tangled getting a TV series, I flipped out. Now that I know it will be getting a second season before the first season has even aired, I am over the moon! And I am not alone in my sentiments surrounding Tangled:

“Tangled is my all-time favorite Disney animated film,” said Gary Marsh, president and chief creative officer, Disney Channels Worldwide. “And with the blessing of the filmmakers, executive producer Chris Sonnenburg has crafted a terrific series that embraces the rich characters, brilliant storytelling and the memorable music of the original.[…]This promises to be an absolute treat for kids and families around the world.”

Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi reprise their roles of Rapunzel and Flynn Ryder respectfully. Julie Bowen and Clancy Brown join the cast as Rapunzel’s mother and father. Broadway’s Eden Espinosa will be playing a new character to the Tangled world named Cassandra.

Tangled The Series will be premiering on Friday, March 24, 2017, at 7:30 PM Eastern Standard Time. Are you excited for this series? What is your favorite Disney animated film? Let us know in the comments below.
